About Chalet Iona
The property is, in fact, 3 buildings, set in its own orchard and surrounded by meadows and forest.
The main chalet sleeps 12 guests in its 2 master rooms and 4 twin or double guest rooms. Each has its own bath or shower room, and each bedroom has its own style, be it with art deco or Biedermeier furniture, or with a nod to the seasons or the passions of the owners’ family.
There is plenty of room for cots and roll-out beds in the master bedrooms, and parties up to 14 could happily be accommodated.
Upstairs is a large open-plan 700 square foot breakfast and dining room, with ceiling-to-floor east-facing panoramic windows, and a 20ft handmade oak banqueting table which dines up to 22. There is a chimney and sofa corner with a 42in flat screen TV for those who can’t wait until the end of dinner. Breakfast can be taken as a group or on the breakfast balcony in the morning sun.
The kitchen is equipped with everything and anything a large group would need, with a 6ft professional range, 2 ovens, 6 hobs and a 3 fridges. Fondue and half-moon raclette sets, Smeg mixers, kettle and toaster. Denby chinawear and crystal glassware.
The floor below is an open-plan 600 square ft lounge, with panoramic 3-sided windows capturing both the early morning sun and summer sunset, a further fireplace, art deco furniture, chesterfield sofas, a drinks bar and games, 75inch smart TV, video and an eclectically stocked book library (full Harry Potter series in English and French, Dickens, Bronte, Austin, Hardy collections, Modern classics, Steinbeck, Zola, Moliere, Stendhal, biographies etc). Both Kitchen, dining and lounge rooms are equipped with Marantz/ATC sound systems.
This lounge leads to one of the properties’ many sun decks and BBQ areas.

The chalet is surrounded by apple, pear plum and cherry trees, as well as Silver birch and the native evergreens.
There is enough apple and pear to make us cider and perry for the whole year, and Autumn guests are welcome to pick as much as they can eat.
There are 3 barbeque areas and sundecks, a Jacuzzi, garden swings, hidden wine cellar and a treehouse.
The third building, as old as the village, is vacant but makes the most fabulous summer playhouse for children, surrounded by old carts from the last century and apple trees.
